Details of the Incident
Meek died following an accident in his hometown of Vestavia Hills, Alabama. Reports indicate that he fell from a moving vehicle on the evening of December 19. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to severe blunt force injuries on December 21.
His family, in a heartfelt obituary, shared:
“He was surrounded by friends, family, and the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

A Promising Talent

In addition to his role in the Oscar-nominated movie, Meek appeared in popular TV shows like MacGyver and lent his voice to major commercials for brands such as McDonald’s, Toys R Us, and League of Legends.
His obituary highlighted his passion for acting:
“He absolutely loved spending time on set and having the chance to learn the names and stories of every member of the cast and crew.”
A Life Full of Achievements
Away from the spotlight, Meek was an active and accomplished student. A sophomore at Vestavia Hills High School, he played on the football team, sang in the Honor Choir, and served in student government.

At just 14 years old, Meek achieved an advanced open-water scuba diving certification and proudly visited all 50 U.S. states during his short lifetime.
“Hudson’s personality was one of a kind,” his family wrote. “He was confident, convicted in his beliefs, spontaneous, and quick-witted.”
Remembering Hudson
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, December 28, at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, Alabama. For those unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed via his Instagram and his mother’s Facebook page.
In his honor, the Hudson J. Meek Memorial Scholarship has been established, aimed at benefiting a Vestavia Hills High School student each year. The family has requested donations to the fund in lieu of flowers.
